Who are we?

NAC (Domestic Appliances) Ltd is a domestic appliance repair organisation that supply goods and services to businesses and private individuals. The website www.appliance-repair-training.co.uk, or any other website owned or operated by us (the “Website”) is owned and operated by NAC (Domestic Appliances) Ltd and the expressions “NAC”, “we”, “us” and “our” mean NAC (Domestic Appliances) Ltd a limited company registered in England under company number 07531907 whose registered office is at 4 Calder Close, Calder Park, Wakefield, WF4 3BA.

We take the privacy of our clients seriously.  In this Privacy Policy, we’ve provided lots of detailed information on when and why we collect your personal information, how we use it, the limited conditions under which we may disclose it to others and how we keep it secure.

Your Personal Data – What we need

NAC (Domestic Appliances) Ltd will be what’s known as the ‘Controller’ of the personal data you provide to us. If you are just enquiring about training with us, we will ask for the following information in order to produce a quotation for you:

  • Name
  • Contact Number
  • Email Address

If you are booking a training course with us, we will ask for the following information in order to secure your place:

  • First Name
  • Surname
  • Home Telephone Number
  • Mobile Telephone Number
  • Full Address including Postcode
  • Email Address
  • Information on any disabilities or special requirements

Where we got your information from

Your information has been obtained by direct dealings with us.

What is our legal basis for processing your information?

After the 25th May 2018 we will always hold recent, clear, explicit and defined consent for your data to be processed for a specific purpose.

For information that we have processed before this date our legal basis is “Legitimate Interests”. We process personal information for certain legitimate business purposes, which include some or all of the following:

  • To deliver our products and services
  • To contact you regarding the products or services that you have requested
  • Where the process enables us to enhance, modify, personalise or otherwise improve our services/communications for the benefit of our customers
  • To carry out auditing, research and analysis in order to maintain, protect and enhance the services we provide
  • To identify and prevent fraud
  • To enhance the security of our network and information systems

Whenever we process data for these purposes we will ensure that we always keep your personal data rights in high regard and take account of these rights.

Why we need it

If you are just enquiring about training with us…

We need to know your basic personal data in order to provide you with information about the most appropriate course and their associated costs. We will not collect any personal data from you we do not need in order to provide our services to you.

If you are booking a course with us…

We need to know your personal data so that we can register you as a customer with us, and tailor our courses appropriately to you.

What we do with it

All of the personal data we process is processed by our staff in the UK however for the purposes of IT hosting and maintenance this information is located on servers within the UK. 

We may occasionally pass the information we collect from you to a Third Party for the reason of carrying out your training. The only third parties that may be passed your data are NAC Internal Trainers who are Self Employed Trainers acting on behalf of NAC to deliver a training course for you.

We have a Data Protection regime in place to oversee the effective and secure processing of your personal data.  All of our employees are subject to obligations of confidentiality regarding information which they have access to in the course of their employment including the personal information of customers. All personal information is held in secure computer storage facilities. We take steps to protect the personal information we hold from misuse, loss, unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.

How long we keep it

If you are just enquiring about a course with us…

We do not keep any data obtained in the process of issuing a training quotation. 

If you are booking a course with us…

We keep your basic personal data for the lifetime of the business. This allow us to maintain training records.

Your information we use for marketing purposes will be kept with us until you notify us that you no longer wish to receive this information. 

Whilst we do not store any sensitive payment information (including card or bank details), we are required to keep financial records for a period of 5 years for the purposes of accounting. 

What are your rights?

If at any point you believe the information we process on you is incorrect you request to see this information and even have it corrected or deleted. If you wish to raise a complaint on how we have handled your personal data, you can contact us and we will investigate the matter.

You have the right to object. If you want us to cease using your personal data, then you can let us know by emailing us at training@nacrepair.co.uk or by clicking unsubscribe on any of our direct marketing emails. Please note that this may affect the ability for us to provide our goods and services to you.

You have the right to restrict processing. If NAC dispute that the information held is inaccurate and we need a little more time to verify it – you have the right to restrict the processing of your information until this is done.

You have the right to move your data. Data portability allows you to request your data for you to be able to move it elsewhere. We will respond within 1 month of receiving your request when you by email us.

If you are not satisfied with our response or believe we are processing your personal data not in accordance with the law you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
