The NAC National Training Centre
Whether you’re a new entrant into the industry looking to get a head-start with our 10-day intensive foundation training or an existing engineer wanting to expand your skill-set, NAC Appliance Training has everything you need to achieve your goals.
Our courses are accredited and assured by City & Guilds and CPD and kick off with essential theory training in a clean, modern air-conditioned classroom environment at our impressive NAC National Training Centre before moving on to the practical hands-on work.
This includes safety, identifying, understanding and testing components specific to the relevant appliance type, whether you’re training to work with microwaves, cookers, refrigerators, laundry products or dishwashers.
Our experienced and expert trainers have more than 60 years of knowledge in this industry behind them, meaning that you’ll be learning from the best and have the potential to join our trusted and respected network of more than 300 engineers.
From day one you’ll be learning the skills you need to build or enhance your career. There’s no time wasted here, just practical guidance to help you do the job right.
As well as learning the skills, you’ll have ongoing support through our Facebook Group as well as using field learning to put those skills into practice.
When you’ve completed your course you’ll be ready to start work as a self-employed engineer while there’s also opportunities for full-time employment with NAC.
In Person vs Online
What are the benefits of in-person appliance repair training? Here’s why you should consider coming to train with us in-person:
When it comes to learning how to repair appliances, nothing quite takes the place of group training and lots of hands-on practice.
We have lots of dates throughout the year to get your hands on to the appliances that you'll learn how to repair. Being on-site with us at Wakefield means that the trainer can really get to know you and can focus on particular topics depending on specific needs.
Sometimes, just getting dirty is best! Not everyone is comfortable or confident with using computers for online learning, even after all those lockdown Zoom quizzes.
It’s easier to raise your hand in a classroom environment and you can chat to your instructor if there's something that's just not being understood.
Learning alongside other people gives you the chance to build up a network of colleagues and share your experiences after you finish the course.
In Person vs Online
What are the benefits of online training? Here’s why you should consider taking the online approach:
If you can’t get to our training centre, that’s not a problem because you can train from anywhere, by doing it online.
Not everyone does well in a group learning environment, and learning online means you can take your learning at your own pace.
When you’re learning from home you can save money on travelling and accommodation, keeping your overhead costs to a minimum.
We’ve all got busy lives, with online training, you can pick and choose when to take part as your progress is saved each time.
If you’re not sure about a section you’ve just covered, you can simply go back and do it again... and again. No judgement.
Who are NAC? We are the largest independent self-generating and self-sufficient national service provider in the UK, booking and administrating many thousands of repairs across the country month in, month out.
We started off small, with just a handful of engineers available each day, but today we’ve got a network of more than 300 engineers, both employed and self-employed with our focus on getting the job done properly still as important as it was on day one.
So whether you’re already in the trade and want to boost your skills, learn some new tricks with our appliance repair courses, or you’re brand new to the industry and want to train to be a Domestic Appliance Engineer, The NAC National Training centre is exactly the right place to kick start your journey.
