An NAC-accredited online training course covering the basics of how to use all the different features of a multimeter.

Upon completion of this online course, you will receive an NAC Accreditation Certificate demonstrating that you have completed this course and that you have an understanding of how to fully use a multimeter.

Who would take this course?

This course has been designed for people with limited or no knowledge of how to correctly use a multimeter for diagnosing electrical faults. You do not have to have any experience in repairing appliances to take this course. But it is recommended that you have some knowledge of the electrical safety tests mentioned below.

Course Advice…

We recommend that you complete the Ohm’s Law and electrical prefixes course, the Insulation and Earth Continuity Testing Course, and the Earth Loop Testing Course prior to learning how to fully use a multimeter for diagnosing faults on appliances, as well as completing this course. These are 3 independent electrical safety tests that should be carried out before any repair and after any repair in the case of Insulation and Earth Continuity Testing.

Links to each course are here:

Post Course Advice…

If you have no prior test meter experience, we recommend that you either attend our Training Centre for thorough theory and practical training (link here) or at the very least, find a professional in your area who is happy to take you with them for a day or so to give you some practical experience before you start testing on your own.

Extras – Upon completion of any course, you receive the following:

  • Continuous access to this online course, which is updated regularly, so you always have it for reference (no outdated paper manuals getting ruined in the back of your van).
  • Access to the NAC National Training Forums – A resource for help with repairs and spares.
  • Access to our Facebook Group – UK Whitegoods Domestic Appliance Engineer Group – A resource for help with repairs and spares.
